Community Manager Job Listing

Question is seeking a part time community manager to work remotely.

Your job will be to help serve as a voice for the company, managing communications in both directions with the community and wider world, and helping oversee our community on various forums and social media.

Responsibilities

  • Update and manage our online presence including website and social media accounts

  • Manage our player community on all social media accounts, including Discord, Twitter, Reddit, Instagram, and other platforms

  • Evaluate public trends, listen to community feedback, and propose actions to the team as needed

  • Create (either internally or with outsourcing) assets for marketing, including screenshots/videos/GIFs/blog posts

  • Responsible for supporting the studio's PR and events - either planning events or attending them

Requirements

Collaborator

  • Someone we can trust (especially because you will represent the studio)

  • Someone the team enjoys interacting with

  • Someone who understands the type of games we are making (and can convey that to external parties)

  • Able to ask questions as needed and reach out to colleagues as needed

  • Great time management skills - multitasking is a critical part of this role

Schedule Flexibility

  • This will not be a typical 9-5 role, but may require availability some nights and weekends to respond to community members outside of work hours.

  • You'll need to be available for regular video calls with the team at predetermined times, but most of your time will be self-managed.

Marketer

  • Inherent understanding of public relations

  • Outgoing personality - need to be comfortable introducing yourself to strangers online, on the phone, or at events

  • Strategy - creating strategic marketing/communications plans

  • Interest in the games industry - need to be able to relate to and demonstrate knowledge of the current gaming landscape

  • Analytics - using tools to provide reports on metrics, and finding ways to improve on those metrics through testing and new initiatives

Technical Skills

  • Able to make visual assets with image editing software (e.g. GIMP or Photoshop)

  • Strong writing skills - able to write appropriate and effective public-facing words on behalf of the studio

Preferred Skills / Bonus

  • Degree or relevant experience in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English, etc.

  • Experience with social media tools; understanding of social media such as Twitter and Facebook for business

  • Web design skills (using HTML, CSS, JS)

  • Graphic design or video editing skills
