QA Specialist/Production Assistant Job Listing

Question is seeking an internal QA/Production Assistant to work remotely on internal studio projects.

Responsibilities

  • Find bugs and write useful descriptions within our Jira bug database

  • Formulate and execute test plans used to verify builds for public release

  • Spend a portion of each day running functional QA testing

  • Evaluate and move public bug reports to the internal database as needed

  • Manage and discuss prioritization as needed

  • Capture meeting notes and distribute to the team

  • General office support and production tasks

Requirements

Collaborator

  • Able to ask questions and reach out to team members as needed

  • Strong organization and time-management skills - able to keep track of several tasks in parallel

Communicator

  • Able to write useful reproduction steps in bug reports with relevant screenshots and debug info

  • Able to document test plans

  • Able to gauge and relay the health of the project to the team based on bug report data

  • Able to sense what is important to the project and engage in productive discussions about prioritization

  • Can provide succinct and clear instructions or documentation for team members or external testers.

  • Can create clear and comprehensive notes from meetings/discussions

Technologist

  • Able to learn debugging tools and use them to enhance bug reports

  • Able to learn the process of generating new builds of the game

  • Able to diagnose and troubleshoot technical and network issues on various platforms (PC, Xbox One, PS4)

Preferred Skills / Attributes

  • Familiarity with game development QA on any of these platforms:

    • Xbox One

    • PlayStation 4

    • Windows PC

  • Familiarity with bug tracking software (we use JIRA)

  • Detail-oriented, can spot issues that others might overlook

  • Passion for video games, desire to learn more about game production and development
